Following graduation, she completed an equine surgical and medical internship at Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center in Cave Creek, AZ. She founded Knoellwood Equine in 2021 to provide a high level of individualized care to the horses in the area.

Dr. Knoell enjoys general medicine, managing geriatrics, and sports medicine. She also enjoys breeding, though it’s not the main focus of her practice. She is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture and Equine Spinal Medical Manipulation (chiropractic) through Chi University in Reddick, FL and practices both on horses regularly.

During the rare times that Dr. Knoell is not working, she can be found with her daughter, Rachel, or on her family’s farm caring for her herd of horses. She currently has 3 dogs and more horses than should be counted, including several young homebred foals.

Amanda W.

Veterinary Assistant

Amanda is our original right-hand wo(man) who keeps all things running smoothly and organized at Knoellwood Equine. You’ll catch her doing everything behind the scenes, including but not limited to, handling horses, helping with lameness exams, assisting with dentals, blood draws, and diagnostic imaging. Amanda has been an essential part of the team for several years with Dr. Meg. When she’s not working long days with Dr. Meg, Amanda enjoys training her young horses and competing in ranch riding with her daughter. Her and her family have four stunning quarter horses and one mini who is cute as a button.

Jenna C.

Vet Assistant

We were so lucky to have Jenna join our team in 2024 as a veterinary assistant. She has been such an asset to Knoellwood Equine! She has many years of experience in the equine industry and is a lifelong equestrian. She is well versed in the needs of the equine athlete, the relationship between horse and rider, as well as the team effort it takes to keep horses performing at their peak performance. When Jenna’s not working hard, she enjoys showing her OTTB named “Revelatory” aka Rory. You’ll probably see her cleaning up in the hunter jumper ring!

Kelsey K.

Office Assistant

You will mostly experience Kelsey behind the scenes of Knoellwood Equine taking care of paperwork & billing for Dr. Knoell. She has been in the horse industry since she was 7 years old and has experience riding both english and western. She is currently working full time in the Thoroughbred industry, caring for retired thoroughbreds. She doesn’t currently have a horse of her own, but does have two dogs Benjamin and Magnolia, who keep her quite busy! Kelsey has done a phenomenal job keeping everything on the back end of Knoellwood Equine organized & running as smoothly as possible!

Maggie H.
